{"id":1216,"date":"2021-12-02T10:17:54","date_gmt":"2021-12-02T10:17:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/andtropia.com\/?p=1216"},"modified":"2021-12-02T10:17:54","modified_gmt":"2021-12-02T10:17:54","slug":"social-i-digital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/andtropia.com\/en\/social-i-digital\/","title":{"rendered":"Social and digital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"has-inline-color has-white-color\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is always said that a crisis can be an opportunity and if we can look for any positive aspect in the current one caused by the pandemic, it has been the acceleration in the digital transformation of many sectors of our society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"has-inline-color has-white-color\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From simple things like making an appointment to do procedures and not having to queue up to more technical things like organizing all the\u00a0<em>stop labs<\/em>\u00a0or the Covid passport, through telematic meetings, telework or sales\u00a0<em>online<\/em>, we have made progress in a few months that without the pandemic would have taken years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"has-inline-color has-white-color\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The third sector has not been left behind in the digital transformation. Donations can be made through channels for years<em>\u00a0online<\/em>, which internally use digital tools to be more efficient, but digital innovation has also reached field projects to be able to reach more beneficiaries, wherever they are, and improve their care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"has-inline-color has-white-color\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I present two examples. Unicef, implementing country governments and NGO partners use RapidPro, a free and open-source software that enables users to easily build and scale mobile-based applications. In use in 36 countries, it facilitates the collection of accurate and real-time information on health, nutrition, education, water and sanitation and protection, in remote and hard-to-reach places, and analyzes the collected data to reach the most vulnerable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"has-inline-color has-white-color\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In India, Don Bosco with the support of the NGO Itwillbe has digitized its Food Bank project in the city of Gurgaon. It was launched in 2014 with a dual goal, to fight food waste and provide food security to 300 people a day. Currently and thanks to an app that channels and makes the\u00a0<em>matching<\/em>, taking into account factors such as the distance between food surplus donations and needs, 5,000 has been reached more quickly and optimally, without intermediary.
