Today the update notebook that complements and updates the study “LA COVID IN ANDORRA – ITS IMPACT ON THE WORKING CLASS ECONOMY” by Reig Fundació was published with data from 2021 or March 2022, depending on the scope The author is Marta Alberch Terrés, founder and director of Andtropia and has had the collaboration of the CRES of the ARI.

.

This update should allow us to see the evolution of a year that, despite not being in the midst of a pandemic, continued to have certain restrictions, suffered waves of infections while vaccination campaigns were expanding and the economy was reopening. Therefore, it was interesting to be able to analyze according to the same parameters established in the first report whether the national economy as well as the family was recovering or not.

.

Maintaining the scheme of the first study, a total of 72 indicators have been updated in six areas: demographic, economic, labor, health, social and educational.

Very briefly and as a general conclusion it can be said that the data and indicators for the year 2021 and March 2022 show a return to normalcy before the Covid pandemic.

.

The update notebook highlights some data that may mark a change in trend and also comments on whether the trends predicted in the first study are being fulfilled or not.

.

Along with the next report scheduled to be published during 2023, and which will include data on 2022 and the beginning of 2023, it is intended to have a holistic view of how the Covid pandemic has affected Andorran society, especially the working class , how this has been affected at different times in the three years since the beginning of the pandemic and how it has come out of this crisis, which was the objective that Reig Fundació was looking for with these works.

.

Finally, the authors would like to thank the collaboration of all the administrations, entities and people who participated and made this study possible.
